Dubai, Feb 7, 2019 - David Ebenezer is referred to as 'The Sea Scape Artist'by many of his artist friends. This fascination found its way into his art of the early 90s, not only in the choice of content but also in his very individual style. David started as a realistic painter working within oil portraiture among other subjects but by the early 90s, while pursuing his Bachelor's and working on his first Solo, he broke away from the realistic style to find his own new pathway. Today his canvases show vibrant portraits and urbane scape images and very seldom, land and seascapes.

David draws his artistic inspiration from his very own personal psyche. Anyone who sees his paintings can effortlessly understand the attitude that emanates from them. He believes artists must be fully aware of human and natural phenomena around them if they ever decide to communicate through their works. He loves to communicate through his canvas on one hand, but on the other, he retreats into his own personal world of expression. Every time he approaches an empty canvas, he says, “I must paint at one go" which he mostly does.

David has a unique stylistic handling. His canvases are vibrantly painted, and his palette is mostly topped with yellow, sky blue and fiery red. These have special meanings: yellow is a symbol of intelligence, red denotes strength and blue means space, peace and calmness. The final creative effect is described poetically as the cosmic energy that encompasses us.

David’s recent artworks are focussed on portraits and reignite the beauty of the subjects through his individual and powerful brush stroke techniques. His works are often described as "bold and enlightening". His distinct and fluid bright colors on multiple media show figures that fluctuate between feelings of fear and hope. David refers to his own psyche as "a measure of expression, allowing it to soar only to be grounded by its own reflection embracing a cosmic totality".

David is not an artist depicting a murky story of divinity or celestial characters to impress the audience or simply for the sake of ingenuity. He has indeed already found his subject matter from the supernatural world within himself. He sees his art as an extension of self and personal re-evaluation of his long spiritual journey, deeply rooted in Christian beliefs. His influences are Michelangelo, Ruben, Rembrandt, Claude Monet, and William Turner.
